FAQ's ...

Is my surveyor qualified?

 

Keith is a ‘Chartered’ surveyor and valuer, which means he is a Professional Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

 

What will happen after I engage Elm Associates Ltd?

 

When you provide an instruction, we will confirm this back to you in writing.  You will receive a letter of instruction and our terms of engagement.  We will contact the estate agent/ vendor, arrange access and collect and return keys.  

 

Can I cancel the survey?

 

You can cancel an instruction up to 24 hours before the inspection and no charges will be incurred.  The charge beyond this period will be based on the time employed on the case.  This is based on the hourly charge for a Chartered Building Surveyor.

 

How long will it take to receive my report?

 

You will receive a phone call from the surveyor the evening after the survey takes place, or at a time convenient to you. You will be notified as to when your report is ready to send to you, this can be up to 10 working days during busy periods.

 

What if I don’t understand a word or phrase in my report?

 

We will be pleased to discuss any aspect of the report with you.  You can either email or call us with your question and we will respond within one working day.

 

What if I am not happy with something?

 

If at any time, you are not happy with the service you have received, please do let us know; we will do all we can to respond to your concerns and seek to address them. If you need to make a complaint, we will provide you with a copy of our complaints procedure. If you are still not satisfied, then you may wish to write to the Property Ombudsman Service and we will provide you with information about this service at the appropriate time.
